Questions I’ve been asked
At the doors and online I’ve been asked some really great questions. I’m starting to address the most common ones here. Please check back as I will be adding answers to new questions every couple of days.

Regional Councillor is a position that serves on both Halton Hills Town Council and Halton Regional Council.
By sitting on both I would be bringing local priorities to the Region and bring a regional perspective to our local decision making.
At both Councils I would be voting on policy, budgets, long term planning, and service levels/delivery.
When a resident of Georgetown has a question or challenge with something the Region is responsible for I would act as a liaison and advocate between staff and the resident, and when appropriate I can bring motions forward to address emerging needs or issues.

No. We are considered part-time.
We are still a small municipality and do not have our own offices or staff support the way neighbouring municipal councillors do.
Regional Councillor is a combination of two part-time positions (one with the town, and the other with the region), so this position is considered full-time.
The Mayor is also considered full-time. -
No.
We are not only getting 5% of the police department servicing Halton Hills.Halton Hills has 48 officers applied to frontline policing duties. When divided by the entire police staff it’s approximately 5%. But the 48 officers do not represent our full policing services (sergeants, traffic officers, tactical, K9 patrols, and more).
Across Districts, Halton Regional Police has 61-62 frontline officers per 100,000 people. Not total officers, just the frontline constables. By that math Halton Hills should have at least 42 frontline constables. We have 48.
When you add in officers who come in and out of Halton Hills, as needed, the number is closer to 100.
Halton Hills is not being short-changed by Halton Regional Police.
This is a clip from our May 11, 2026 Council meeting where Halton Police explains our staffing levels. All currently sitting councillors were there.[25:16 – Regional Police Services in Halton Hills]
